The Decebalus REX was carved on a rock overlooking a bend in the Danube a few kilometers from the Romanian city of Orsova. Orsova has located about 365 km from Bucharest. Coming from Drobeta-Turnu Severin, passing the Iron Gates and the border crossing with Serbia, immersed in a splendid landscape. The road follows the profile of the mountain, with numerous viaducts and bridges and the Danube to the side. It is a winding road, with an unexpectedly high elevation gain, but as soon as you cross the hill, the view is beautiful and truly impressive.
Today, also thanks to the work of Decebalus, this part of Romania has become a very popular tourist destination. A real local and national icon.
